Vertigo And Neck Injury – Is There A Connection?

Neck Pain, Pain, Vertigo

Vertigo is not well understood by the public, that is unless you have suffered with it! Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic offices throughout the country see 100's of Menieres Disease, Vertigo and Vestibular related cases a year. Most cases have been down the usual route: first to the primary care Physician, then referred to the HEENT, and a percentage find their way to The House Clinic. At The House Clinic patients are run through a battery of tests many of which are designed to induce the dizziness, to determine exactly what type of vertigo you have. After thousands of dollars the patient is left with nothing but a name: You have vertigo, vestibular migraines, menieres disease or other names that do little to help you heal through the problem. These patients are desperate, they want to know what the cause is and how they can fix it. In this blog we would like to discuss the role that neck injuries play in vertigo and other vestibular disorders.

While there are cases that need medical attention, most vestibular problems have their root in neck injury. Dr. Michael Burcon in Michigan has published research that shows that Menieres Disease is related to an Upper Cervical Subluxation. (To read his published articles click this link.) Dr. Burcon has shown that over 300 cases of Menieres Disease were successfully helped with

Upper Cervical Blair spinal corrections. Upper Cervical subluxations interfere with normal nervous system function.

Neck Injury And Your Bodies Health

Trauma happens to most of us throughout life. Many traumas seem insidious at the time, but can have far reaching effects on human health. Your brain, spinal cord, spinal nerves, and cranial nerves are responsible for controlling all body functions. Health is the result of normal function. Car accidents, Sports Injuries, and other traumas can dislodge the the top bone in the neck called the atlas. This structural displacement has been implicated not only in vertigo but many other health conditions.(1,2,3)

Blair Upper Cervical Technique Has A Singular Goal

Blair Upper Cervical Technique has ONE goal. That goal is to remove interference to the central nervous system by making precise corrections to spinal misalignments in the upper neck. Since the central nervous system controls every aspect of your health, it should not be a surprise to see patients with Meinere's Disease and Vertigo problems respond well to Blair Upper Cervical Care. The Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractic Society's mission is to raise awareness of this special health discipline so people can live a better quality of life. Do not settle for symptom based management, look deeper underneath the veneer for the cause.
